Dòng sản phẩm 3RW30 (5.5-55kW @ 400V): Khởi động mềm compact kinh tế nhất cho các ứng dụng đơn giản, khởi động bằng voltage ramp (tăng điện áp tuyến tính), không có chức năng dừng mềm (soft stop), phù hợp cho động cơ công suất nhỏ đến trung bình với điều kiện khởi động nhẹ (CLASS 10).​

Lợi ích Soft Starter so với Direct-On-Line (DOL)
Giảm dòng điện khởi động: DOL starter tạo inrush current 6-8 lần dòng định mức trong 100-200ms, gây sụt áp lưới, ảnh hưởng thiết bị khác. Soft starter giới hạn dòng khởi động 2-4 lần, khởi động mềm mại, ổn định lưới.​

Giảm ứng suất cơ học: DOL tạo starting torque đột ngột lên đến 200% rated torque, gây shock lên gears, belts, couplings, shafts, bearings, giảm tuổi thọ. Soft starter tăng torque dần từ 0% đến 100%, mechanical smooth start, kéo dài tuổi thọ hệ thống 2-3 lần.​

Ngăn chặn water hammer: Trong hệ thống bơm, DOL stop tạo water hammer (sóng áp lực trong ống) có thể phá hủy ống, van, bơm. Soft stop giảm tốc độ motor dần, giảm water hammer > 80%.​

Tiết kiệm năng lượng: Hybrid switching với bypass contactor chỉ tiêu thụ năng lượng qua thyristor trong vài giây khởi động, sau đó bypass hoàn toàn, tổn thất công suất < 1%, DOL với contactor cũng có tổn thất thấp nhưng không có soft start.​

Tiết kiệm không gian: Soft starter compact hơn 50-70% so với star-delta starter (cần 3 contactors + timer), 80% so với autotransformer starter.​

Lợi ích Soft Starter so với Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
Chi phí thấp hơn: Soft starter rẻ hơn VFD 30-50%, đơn giản hơn, phù hợp khi không cần điều khiển tốc độ biến thiên, chỉ cần soft start/stop.​

Kích thước nhỏ hơn: Soft starter nhỏ gọn hơn VFD cùng công suất 20-40%, tiết kiệm không gian tủ điện.​

Bảo trì đơn giản hơn: Không có DC bus capacitors, cooling fans phức tạp như VFD, tuổi thọ cao hơn, ít hỏng hơn.​

Không có harmonics: Soft starter không tạo harmonics như VFD (VFD tạo harmonics 5th, 7th, 11th cần filter), đơn giản hơn về EMC.​

Khi nào dùng VFD: Nếu cần điều tốc liên tục (variable speed), energy saving qua speed reduction (pumps, fans với variable load), process control chính xác (flow, pressure) thì VFD vượt trội. Nếu chỉ cần soft start/stop, motor chạy full speed sau khi khởi động thì soft starter là lựa chọn optimal về cost/performance.​

Lắp đặt và Commissioning
Wiring: Kết nối L1/L2/L3 từ supply, T1/T2/T3 đến motor, control supply (24V hoặc 110-230V), digital inputs (start/stop/reset), relay outputs (ready/running/fault) đến PLC hoặc control panel.​

Capacitor prohibition: Không được lắp tụ bù (capacitor for reactive power compensation) giữa soft starter và motor. Nếu cần tụ bù, đặt upstream soft starter và chỉ đóng tụ sau khi motor đã chạy full speed.​

Overload relay: Soft starter có motor overload protection tích hợp (thermal model), không cần overload relay riêng. Nếu dùng thêm overload relay, set CLASS phù hợp (CLASS 10 cho soft starter starting).​
